I am in California with students. We arrived on Tuesday and will be visiting some schools here in Riverside and in Los Angeles. I will keep you posted. Today we went to Martin Luther King High School in Riverside and Japanese and American students sang "Sakura" together. The JIU students received a very warm welcome by two different groups of students. They also received a T-shirt as a gift (photo 2).

Easter egg a day late

We ate the Brazilian egg (sold here in Japan) in my office on Monday. The smaller one might look like an egg, but it was actually full of popcorn.

Late cherry blossoms

The weather was quite strange in late March and early April and we were able to appreciate the cherry blossoms on campus quite late this year. I took this photo on April 14.

My first trip to Korea

I spent the New Year holidays in Seoul this year. It was my very first there. The food was espectacular but I found out later that we ate at a three-Michelin-star restaurant. The most interesting was that I was able to meet a former student and his family.

Last Extension class in January

Unfortunately not all students were in class this day. This was the last class that Mr. Koga attended. He moved to Tokyo in February. We'll miss him.
