JIU Festival 2011 (November 5, 6 and 7)
Apologies for the delay in writing this. I do not know why, but I wasn't able to upload any photos or reasonable text for a while despite numerous attempts. Here are some pics that you might enjoy.
Successful Festival (October 30, 31 and November 1, 2010)
Despite the terrible weather on October 30 when none of the booths were allowed to sell food outside, we were able to achieve our goal of donating 300,000 yen to the children of Haiti through UNICEF. We thank you all and each of you for taking the time to come to JIU and for your precious cooperation.
The students were also happy to receive two awards and they deserved them both. We will start working on next year's exhibition next week and hope to see you all again at JIU next November. Thank you!
JIU Festival 2010
Please visit us at Café Ponte in G2-106 on October 30, 31 and November 1. We'll be selling Brazilian snacks such as queijadinhas, biscoito de polvilho, brigadeiros and obviously guaraná and coffee. At the outside booth you'll be able to eat linguiça (sausage) and also the popular cheese pastel. We'll be looking forward to seeing you here at JIU.
JIU Festival 2009
We were able to achieve the goal of making a donation of 300,000 yen to South Africa this year. In the Samba Café students sold Brazilian coffee, snacks including queijadinha, brigadeiro, biscoito de polvilho, and guaraná. In the outside booth, students sold pastéis de queijo and coxinha--all excellent! We appreciate the continued cooperation of the residents of Chiba Prefecture who always come to our café and to the parents of the students who traveled long distances to support our project. We are looking forward to seeing you all on October 30, 31 and November 1!
