Hong Kong

Greetings from Hong Kong. I arrived here on Tuesday, April 8. Our Chancellor was awarded an honorary professorship by the City University of Hong Kong yesterday and she also gave a lecture on the aging society in Japan. We are very much looking forward to further strengthening the ties with CityU.

Our Chancellor with President Way Kuo.

So happy to see two of the students I met last June.

Wonderful dinner reception at the Peninsula.

Superb watermelon juice.

First time eating garoupa. President Kuo said I should eat the eyes, but I decided not to.

April 6: Sakura Matsuri in Kamogawa

The following day we had a "Sakura Matsuri" (cherry blossom festival) in Kamogawa, but it was cold and the weather not that good. Nevertheless it was a good day and we enjoyed some great food including the amazing food you can see below.

Freshman Seminar on April 4 and 5

The Freshman Seminar for my department was held on April 4 and 5 in Kamogawa. We were lucky and had good weather both days.

What a pleasant morning!

Thanks for visiting and thanks for giving me a ride to JIU!
