Barbacoa on November 29

The initial plan was to have all my seminar students at Barbacoa this past Sunday, but the group ended up being a mixture of advisees in undergraduate and graduate school, teachers, students in my Portuguese class and former students. The 27 of us ate "churrasco" for two hours! We also sang "Parabéns" all together more towards the end of our meal.

Surprise

Lately I have been able to see lots of cute children--sons and daughters of former students. On Wednesday Ryo-kun visited me and I was so impressed at his behavior. Isn't he cute?

Lots of tempura on November 22

Many of us went to the Namekis for a great meal. We enjoyed authentic "sekihan" and delicious tempura. We ate a lot for a few hours. It was a quiet and peaceful Sunday lunch.

JIU Festival Day 3

Day 3 started with some serious responsibility problems and we were not able to open our café and outside booth on time. I apologize to those who waited patiently and also thank everyone who made the time to come to JIU these past three days.

Big surprise!

Parabéns pra você!

JIU Festival Day 2

It was a very cold day and besides the low temperatures it was raining, too. Some people did come to our room and we are very grateful to everyone.

JIU Festival 2015: Day 1

Josai's 50th anniversary celebrations

Josai University has turned 50 years old. We celebrated with lots of guests from our sister universities around the world on October 31 in Sakado, Saitama. Yesterday, November 1, they visited JIU and attended the opening ceremony of the JIU Rose Garden.
