A different environment for a change

I wish I could go out for dinner with the great people who come to the Discussions course more often. Unfortunately we usually meet and talk over tea and some sweets only, but this past Wednesday we were able to enjoy some Taiwanese food at Yutaka together. Meeting in a different environment is always great especially while eating good food. Last summer we met at Barbacoa in Tokyo and that was really fun, too!

Discussion group at Barbacoa

The theme of our "Discussion" course this semester was food, and we decided to end the term with a nice dinner at Barbacoa in Tokyo. We ate LOTS of Brazilian style BBQ, fried banana, hearts of palm, grilled pineapple etc etc. This was certainly a great way to end the course.

May 19: Flowers & Cake in the Discussions Class (Extension)

We celebrated Watanabe-san's birthday and mine with the great cake she brought for all of us. She also gave me these most beautiful flowers, and what makes them really special is that they are from her garden. That day we talked about Mother Teresa's philosophy of life and how she affected the lives of so many. Today, May 26, we talked about Helen Keller and about the reasons a large number of high school students don't know about these two women nowadays.
